The Prophet ﷺ took Mu'adh by the hand and said: 'Mu'adh, by Allah, I love you', then: 'I advise you, Mu'adh — never fail to say after every prayer: O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You well' (Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i).
Consider it: an advice prefaced with a declaration of love, so that the heart would be ready to receive it — and the advice was to ask for help in being grateful. Because gratitude is itself a blessing needing gratitude, and is not attained except with His help.
The practical means to gratitude is to look at those below you: 'Look at those beneath you and do not look at those above you; that is more fitting, lest you belittle Allah's favour upon you' (agreed upon).
