Dua for Provision

Provision is apportioned and written, and yet we were commanded to ask for it — because asking is itself worship, and because supplication is among the means by which what is decreed comes about.

The most comprehensive is what the Prophet ﷺ taught 'Ali: 'O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful against what You have forbidden, and enrich me by Your bounty so I need none besides You.' Note that it does not ask for wealth as such; it asks for sufficiency from what is lawful and independence from people — and that is provision in truth.

Among the strongest means is seeking forgiveness: 'Seek forgiveness of your Lord; indeed He is ever Forgiving. He will send rain upon you in abundance, and give you increase in wealth and children.'

For sufficiency and independence

Allahumma ikfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful against what You have forbidden, and enrich me by Your bounty so that I need none besides You.

After the Fajr prayer

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbala.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision and accepted deeds.

Seeking forgiveness

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no god, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.

Plain text (no diacritics)
