The time for the morning adhkar runs from dawn until the sun has risen, and the best of it is immediately after Fajr — before the day takes hold of you. If the window passes, say them when you remember: missing them entirely is the greater loss.
Only established texts are collected here, and they are ordered the way they are said rather than the way they are catalogued: Ayat al-Kursi and the three protective surahs first, then the transmitted morning supplications, then tasbih and istighfar. Every dhikr carries its repetition count and its source in Bukhari, Muslim or the Sunan.
Use the counter beside each dhikr to keep your place — close the page, come back the same day, and your progress is still there.
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa-l-Hayyu-l-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fi-s-samawati wa ma fi-l-ard. Man dha-lladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnih.
Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Virtue: Whoever recites it in the morning is protected until evening.
Qul a'udhu bi-Rabbi-l-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharri-n-naffathati fi-l-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Qul a'udhu bi-Rabbi-n-nas. Maliki-n-nas. Ilahi-n-nas. Min sharri-l-waswasi-l-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi suduri-n-nas. Mina-l-jinnati wa-n-nas.
Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind.
We have reached the morning and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good that follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it.
O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Virtue: Whoever says it with certainty and dies that day enters Paradise.
O Allah, I have reached the morning calling You to witness, and calling the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels and all Your creation to witness, that You are Allah — none has the right to be worshipped but You alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.
Virtue: Allah frees the one who says it from the Fire.
O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or to any of Your creation this morning is from You alone, without partner, so to You is all praise and all thanks.
O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no deity but You.
Allahumma inni as'aluka-l-'afwa wa-l-'afiyata fi-d-dunya wa-l-akhirah, Allahumma inni as'aluka-l-'afwa wa-l-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali.
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth.
Allahumma 'alima-l-ghaybi wa-sh-shahadati fatira-s-samawati wa-l-ard, Rabba kulli shay'in wa malikah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharri-sh-shaytani wa shirkih.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Shaytan and his calling to shirk.
Asbahna 'ala fitrati-l-islam, wa 'ala kalimati-l-ikhlas, wa 'ala dini nabiyyina Muhammadin ﷺ, wa 'ala millati abina Ibrahima hanifan musliman wa ma kana mina-l-mushrikin.
We have reached the morning upon the natural way of Islam, the word of sincere devotion, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the way of our father Ibrahim, who was upright and submitting, and was not of the polytheists.
Subhana-llahi wa bihamdihi 'adada khalqih, wa rida nafsih, wa zinata 'arshih, wa midada kalimatih.
Glory and praise be to Allah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne, and as much as the ink of His words.
From dawn until the sun rises, and best of all immediately after the Fajr prayer. Said later out of forgetfulness, they still count.
What is the virtue of the morning and evening adhkar?
+
They are a fortress for the believer. Whoever says 'Bismillahi alladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay' fil-ardi wa la fis-sama' …' three times is protected from harm, and whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi in the morning is guarded until evening.
Do I have to say each one the exact number of times?
+
The transmitted count is a sunnah worth keeping, because the reward described is tied to it. Saying fewer is still remembrance of Allah and still rewarded.
