When anger rises
A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed devil.

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: advise me. He said: 'Do not become angry.' The man repeated the request, and he repeated: 'Do not become angry' (al-Bukhari). The point is not that you should feel no anger — that is not within anyone's power — but that you should not act on it.
He ﷺ also said: 'The strong man is not the one who wrestles others down; the strong man is the one who controls himself when angry' (agreed upon). Strength there is not overcoming someone else, but overcoming yourself in the moment nobody is watching.
The transmitted remedy is three things: seeking refuge, changing your posture — if standing, sit; if sitting, lie down — and wudu, for anger is from the devil, the devil is from fire, and fire is put out with water.

Allahumma inni as'aluka kalimatal-haqqi fir-rida wal-ghadab.
O Allah, I ask You for a word of truth in contentment and in anger.
