Your doorway is the boundary between what you control and what you do not. So words were taught for crossing it — short words, with a protection out of all proportion to their length.
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When a man leaves his house and says: In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, there is no might nor power except with Allah — it is said to him: you are guided, sufficed and protected, and the devil withdraws from him.'
On entering, Allah is named again: whoever mentions Allah on entering his home and at his meal leaves the devil neither lodging nor supper.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'ala Allah, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
In the name of Allah; I place my trust in Allah; there is no might nor power except with Allah.
بسم الله، توكلت على الله، لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allahi Rabbina tawakkalna.
In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we place our trust.
بسم الله ولجنا، وبسم الله خرجنا، وعلى الله ربنا توكلنا
