Arafah is the greatest day of the year: on no day does Allah free more servants from the Fire. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of Arafah, and the best that I and the prophets before me have said is: There is no god but Allah alone, without partner…'
Notice: the best thing said on the best day for supplication is not a request at all — it is affirmation of oneness and praise. That is an etiquette often forgotten: praise before you ask.
For those not on Hajj, fasting the day of Arafah expiates two years, the one past and the one to come. Pilgrims do not fast it; they devote the day to supplication at Arafah.
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir.
There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is all praise, and He is capable of all things.
لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالتُّقَىٰ وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَىٰ
Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda wat-tuqa wal-'afafa wal-ghina.
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the next. O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity and independence of means.
اللهم إني أسألك العفو والعافية في الدنيا والآخرة. اللهم إني أسألك الهدى والتقى والعفاف والغنى
